[ARCHIVED] Emeryville Community: Sign-Up to Learn About Disaster Preparedness

Are you ready to help your neighborhood when a disaster happens?


The Alameda County Fire Department hosts a 20-hour virtual basic CERT training. Class registration is free and open to community members who are 18 years of age or older, or 14 to 17-years-old upon approval of a parent/guardian.

  • Medical Operations
  • Fire Safety
  • Utility Control
  • Light Search and Rescue
  • Disaster Psychology

FEMA’s IS 317 “Introduction to CERT” is a prerequisite on-line course.  CERT Participant Manuals can be located online.  Completion of CERT basic training requires “hands on” training to be scheduled at a later date.
