[ARCHIVED] Free Disposal Options for Used Oil and Hazardous Waste for Emeryville Residents

Recycle Motor Oil and Filters

Doing your own oil change is a great way to protect your engine. Through Waste Management used motor oil and oil filters are collected for free curbside at most single-family homes and some apartments – call 510-613-8710 to confirm service for your address and request the free jug to contain oil. When the oil change is complete, place up to four filled motor oil recycling jugs and up to two filters in sealed plastic bag curbside next to (not inside) your trash cart on your regularly scheduled pickup day.

Prefer to drop off your oil? Visit the StopWaste website to find nearby locations to drop off used oil for free.

Have other hazardous items you don’t know how to dispose of like antifreeze, brake fluid, light bulbs, or paint? There are multiple locations and events throughout Alameda County for free residential drop off of hazardous items. Visit the StopWaste HHW website to find upcoming events or free drop-off location near you.
