The City of Emeryville is proud to announce that on April 21, 2023, financing was closed for the Nellie Hannon Gateway Affordable Housing Project at 3600 San Pablo Avenue. This project is a partnership with Resources for Community Development, a nonprofit affordable housing developer based in Berkeley. The project includes 90 units of affordable housing on 0.39 acres, with half of the units set aside for Permanent Supportive Housing for formerly homeless households and 5,900 square feet of commercial space dedicated to ECAP, Emeryville’s nonprofit food security provider.
RCD and the City were successful in obtaining over $83m in funding commitments from the State through the No Place Like Home, Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities, and Housing Accelerator Programs. The total project development costs are approximately $92.6m, with the City providing approximately 18% of the total.
Construction is expected to commence in late May 2023, with completion in Spring/Summer 2025.
