On Wednesday, June 21, the Emeryville Police Department (EPD) will participate in the Special Olympics Torch Run event, part of the Special Olympics Northern California Summer Games. The Torch Run will begin in Emeryville at the intersection of 7th Street and Folger Avenue, where the University of California Berkeley Police Department will start the handoff to EPD. EPD will run approximately 2.5 miles through Emeryville to 40th Street and Adeline Street, where the Torch will then be passed on to the Oakland Police Department.
