AC Transit is preparing for both planned and spontaneous demonstrations, rallies and marches before and after the Presidential Inauguration on Friday, January 20.  These activities could have wide-spread impact on service throughout the district starting as early as Thursday and lasting through the weekend.  We expect that service disruptions will be intermittent and that they will travel along high-traffic corridors.  Special attention is being paid to service in Downtown Oakland, Berkeley and across the Bay Bridge.

The largest crowds are expected on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21.  Detours outlined here will be used in Downtown Oakland throughout the week as our operators encounter obstacles along their routes.  Detours explained here will be in effect from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday to accommodate the Women’s March and Rally in Downtown Oakland.
