[ARCHIVED] PG&E to Perform Quiet Work Through January 28

PG&E to Perform Quiet Work
Survey of Gas Lines in Emeryville during Overnight Hours

Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) will be conducting a survey of its gas transmission lines and casings throughout the City of Emeryville between the hours of 2:00 AM and 4:00 AM for approximately five nights. The overnight work will be accomplished starting on January 17th and is expected to be finished on January 24th.

It is necessary to conduct the survey during the 2:00 AM to 4:00 AM timeframe as that is the quietest time of day and so as to avoid noise interference from BART operations. Traffic control will be set up during the survey, however, no construction activities or noise will occur at night. Additionally, none of this quiet night work will be conducted on weekends or holidays.

The planned schedule is below. Any noise-generating activities including locating, drilling, and restoring will only occur during the day.
